Sausage and pasta, a tempting combination everybody loves, is quite an easy dinner to prepare. This hearty meal will fill your tummy with a bucket full of nutrition.
With twenty-minute cooking time, you can make a delicious and filling meal for your family without stress or requiring any difficult technique. Everybody will love this recipe, from children to adults, as it's so easy to eat and enjoy.
Ingredients (for 2 people):
Spicy Italian sausages, or if you don't like it spicy, you can use any sausages you and your family like. It can be chicken, beef or pork sausages.
Shallots, or red onions.
2 cloves of garlic, leeks, and some thymes.
Cherry tomatoes or any types of ripe tomatoes.
Any types of pasta you like. I use pappardelle in this recipe.
Let's cook!
Step 1: Prepare the ingredients by chopping leeks, shallots, garlic and tomatoes into small pieces.
Step 2: Get a pot, boil the water, season with some salts and cook the pappardelle for 10 minutes. Depending on which type of pasta you choose, you need to check the instructed boiling time on the package.
Step 3: Heat a pan, add a tablespoon of olive oil and fry the spicy Italian sausages. When the sausages start turning to beautiful light brown colour, take them out and cut them into small cubes.
Step 4: Bring all the cubes of sausages back to the pan, along with chopped shallots, garlic and leeks. Then, season with a bit of salt and thyme. (If you like it extra spicy, you can also add some chopped chillies.)
Step 5: Add a bit of pasta water into the pan to cool down the sizzling. Then, add chopped tomatoes with a dash of balsamic vinegar and continue stirring the mixture on medium heat. Let it simmer for 5 minutes.
Step 6: When the pappardelle is ready, drain the pasta and add directly to the pan of sausage mixture. Mix them well for 2 minutes and curate them on a plate to serve.
The salty, spicy taste of the Italian sausages in juicy tomato sauce enhanced by herbs and vegetables, all will delight your taste bud from the very first bite. Less cooking time, stress-free preparation, but such a hearty meal for a family gathering at weekends. Why not give this recipe a try?
